There is, and always has been, one exception to the coherent cable loom approach to wiring a hi-fi system. But, whilst it is easy to demonstrate that using interconnects, speaker cables and power cords from a single source (and that employ a single technological approach) will easily outperform a mix and match mess of even vastly more expensive leads, that logic doesn't necessarily extend to arguably the most critical cables in the system.

Listen up, and don't skip over this section, 'cos I'm about to reveal the biggest improvement in my hi-fi system for a decade. More than that, it actually puts CD reproduction right up there as a serious competitor to vinyl - something I never thought I'd ever find myself writing. Indeed, it's such a momentous change, I'm still struggling to come to terms with it.

hi-fi+ Product Of The Year Award

The name Vertex AQ gives little clue to the who, what or why of this newcomer. One could describe it as a maker of accessories, but that would be to sell this creative new company decidedly short. Yes, it does make the sort of bits and pieces normally classed as accessories, but it does so within a unified and coherent context that is entirely original and remarkably effective.
