This is not a proposition, its essential if you want the best from your hi-fi."

Vertex accessories offer a system approach that will make your present and projected components work … in a systematic way. Why?

Because no matter whether you connect together a budget level system or exotic components, the interaction between source, amplifier and loudspeakers will not allow them to perform even close to their potential. They are floating in a quagmire of electronic and vibrational NOISE. Against this, the signal, which defines harmonics, transients, dynamics, transparency etc, will not emerge from the loudspeakers; most of it will never reach the loudspeakers.

Solving this problem cost-effectively and musically-effectively (same thing, really) means that (1) you need to (with our help) identify significant key problems; and (2) you need to resolve these before opening up the resolution, in other words there is a correct order (unless you are solving all the problems with a single investment).

A Big Difference

VertexAQ differs from piecemeal accessories in the following key areas:

1. A coherent strategy - not only innovative and highly effective individually, but a consistent loom of wires, mains conditioners and physical supports which reduce the right noise at the right component of each source > amplifier > loudspeaker; start to do this and you’ll remember why you started out in the hobby of Hi-Fi in the first place.

2. Hand crafted - not plastic mass-produced, nor eastern components, but hand made and distinctive parts. So it isn’t going to be the cheapest.

3. Unique technologies - not tried and trusted compromises but solutions from cutting-edge engineering fields not previously applied in Hi-Fi.

Vertex dealers are a little different too:

1. Vertex dealers are not high-volume (‘scuse the pun!) selling UK retailers but those who have the dedication, determination and experience to understand the issues and advise effectively which fix is the first, or subsequent step.

2. Vertex guarantee is try (each step) before you buy. The science behind the products is explainable, although part of it is proprietary and confidential. However, to quote the proverb, the proof of the pudding is in the eating.

The hype and the reality

Hi-Fi accessories aren’t new, and Vertex isn’t the only company making good ones – but they are in a very small minority because even though all reviewers on planet Hi-Fi rave about their stuff on paper and online, nothing prepares you for the discovery of what your equipment now starts to do (and in our view, reviewers have hyped a lot of mediocre accessories for reasons best known to themselves).

Step by step, you will be amazed that your music system – present products and intended upgrades – now behave, not like a disappointing group of products demanding “the next fix” but a magical, pleasurable, habit-forming equipment-gate to your favourite music; and music you never thought you would enjoy.

The vicious circle of buying other peoples’ mistakes by mail order so you don’t lose too much money reselling your own mistake is smart if you are some kind of collector of Hi-Fi. But if you want to hear how your Hi-Fi can blow away a system costing ten times the price there is a British company who can do it better than anyone else on this planet.

The advice to think Vertex is the advice to think ahead; think logically; resist the quick fix;

- mind the gap (between your source>amp>speakers!).

Early Days

When Vertex AQ came to me in 1999 with their first product, the simple Kinabalu equipment platform, I knew straightaway that this was a company tackling the knotty problem of supports in a novel and sophisticated way. The technical backgrounds of the principals was impressive and I didn't hesitate in taking the platforms into stock, working on my principle of selling stuff that works even if it's unknown.

Everybody who's done a little experimentation with shelf material, cones and slabs of concrete knows that they all make a difference to the sound, so there's clearly something significant going on at that interface between box and board. Up to that moment in 1999 no supplier had convinced me that their approach was correct - soft rubber, hard rubber, MDF shelves, glass shelves, wooden cones etc, etc.

Better than Sticking Plaster

The Vertex AQ approach to draining and blocking damaging acoustic energy, mostly created by the system itself, made complete sense and was easily demonstrated. Kinabalu supports went into my demonstration setup and I started the education process with customers, many of whom were naturally sceptical at this early stage.

Similar technology was built into other items and the Vertex range has now widened hugely into cables, platforms and mains conditioners at different performance levels, practically all of which I have in permanent stock for demonstration.

When people ring for advice and say they are interested in Product 'X', I try to find out why they are dissatisfied with their present setup. In 9 cases out of 10 I diagnose their problem as being something quite different from what they believe - and a lot of those problems can be significantly lessened or even eliminated with items in the Vertex range!

Upgrade Wisely

In fact, I go so far as to say that until the mains is cleaned-up with Vertex filters and equipment is placed on Vertex platforms, people cannot judge the performance of their system. Money is often misguidedly spent on equipment upgrades without solving the underlying problems. But remove the RF contamination and drain damaging acoustic energy from components (especially CD players and valve equipment) and improvements are dramatic.

People who come here for demonstrations usually comment favourably on the dynamics, the clarity and the power of the muic and sometimes remark that the performance is considerably better than other, more expensive, systems they have heard. Much of that difference is down to the Vertex AQ components in the system.
